The Merrill track and field team held their annual year-end banquet on Wednesday afternoon, at Merrill High School. The team met in the commons area where they announced the winners of each award, voted on by the team.
Athletes who received an award include: Tyler Wolff- Most Exemplifies the Qualities of Track and Field Award, James Pawlicki- Boys MVP, Dalie Thomas- Girls MVP, Elizabeth Schmidt- Rookie of the Year and Emma Marlowe- Shannon Blake Distance Runner Award.
The track team had a successful season, sending 10 athletes to the sectional meet, with one athlete, Dalie Thomas, advancing to the WIAA division 1 state meet. At state, Thomas placed 21st in the 400 meter run, with a time of 1:03.32.
