Kate Goodrich Elementary’s Walk-a-Thon set for Friday

Students at Kate Goodrich Elementary School are planning their 2nd Annual Walkathon for Friday, June 7, from 1-2 p.m.
This event , which students will be collecting pledges for, will help support students for school field trips and other school enrichment programs.
Staff at Kate Goodrich realize the importance of learning and life experiences beyond the walls of our classrooms.
This fundraiser will provide funding for these field trips, experiences and special school activities.
An example of learning experiences, are trips to the Merrill School Forest. All of our students have the opportunity to attend our beautiful Merrill School Forest twice throughout the school year and learn about science-related topics in an outdoor setting. Another common trip is to the Grand Theater in Wausau; exposing our students to live theater productions that tie in with our literacy learning.
Our 4th grade students study the state of Wisconsin and then have the opportunity to visit our state’s capitol and other places in the Madison area.
All of these and many more learning opportunities, as well as school-wide celebrations and other enrichment activities, will be funded from our Walk-A-Thon pledges, and support from people and businesses in our community.
