Queen contestants prepare for Wisconsin River Pro Rodeo

The Wisconsin River Pro Rodeo will celebrate its 30th anniversary this weekend at the Merrill Festival Grounds.
The new queen will be crowned on Sunday, June 9 at 12:30 p.m. just prior to the 1 p.m. rodeo performance.
The candidates are Chasity Newmann, daughter of Jaime Bouchard and Raymond Bangart, Stratford; Shyana Zettler, daughter of Shelly Zettler, Athens; Aliah Soerens, daughter of Wendy Jones, Wild Rose; and Alexis Uttecht, daughter of Jennifer Urbanski and Randy Uttecht, Wausau.

The contestants will be selling tickets to the Rodeo until 5 p.m Thursday, June 6. Ticket sales are one of the components to the queen contest.
The reigning rodeo royalty will preside over this year’s event.
The 2019 Wisconsin River Pro Rodeo Queen is Madison Schulz and the 2019 Princess is Allison Tillman, daughter of Amy Tillman and Thomas Tillman of Wausau.
Madison Schulz, of Merrill, has been representing the Wisconsin River Pro Rodeo for the past two years. First as the rodeo princess and now as the 2019 Queen. She has attended many social events, including parades and other Wisconsin state rodeos. Her love for horses, the sport of rodeo, and one day following in her mother’s footsteps-she won the crown in 1999- was a dream and a goal that Schultz had.
Schultz hopes her hard work and dedication, along with her positive attitude and smile, will inspire someone to follow in her footsteps someday. Madison is the daughter of Danielle Schulz and Tyler Hess.
