On Monday, May 27th, the Merrill City Band will make its first appearance of the 2019 season. The group will join together with veterans, service members, auxiliary, scouts, and others in helping to honor those who serve or have served our country. This year’s ceremony will again be held in the auditorium at Merrill High School. The band begins at 10:30 a.m., with the ceremony to follow at 11 a.m.
Narrator Jim Bjorklund will join the band as a vocalist on the National Anthem, “This Is My Country,” and “Abide With Me.” Vocal quartet Saydi Stewart, Tiffany Bucheger, Josh Olson, and Jim Bjorklund will perform “God Bless America.” Patriotic selections, hymns, and marches round out the concert and ceremony. As always, “Marches of the Armed Forces” will honor the five branches of the service.
