Holly Behrens has been working with Merrill community members for some time as a clinical herbalist and doctor.
Behrens was focused on individual consultations while at The Mustard Seed, but as of Mid-May, she has taken over as owner and renamed the business Main Street Apothecary, located at 1027 E. Main St.
Behrens still will be giving one-on-one consultations but now as the owner she is also doing the inventory, ordering and everything else. Behrens said she will be taking the business toward natural and holistic medicine to improve health of community members.
“I am now more community-oriented than one-on-one oriented, and focused on the wants and needs of the community,” Behrens said.
Behrens said Main Street Apothecary sells CBD oil and it is “very in right now.” She also said that people looking to make their own medicine can continue to come in for consultations on things like joint pain, and she can figure out the best herbs and medicine for you.
Behrens said the store hosts classes from natural living to gardening and personal development classes.
There are also plenty of herbal tea options including holy basil, which Behrens says is restorative and brings balance, calm, soothing and relaxation.
Main Street Apothecary is open Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., Tuesday and Thursday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Saturday from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
