Mya Wilde has been named March Musician of the Month for Prairie River Middle School. Daughter of Colette and Mike Wilde of Merrill, Mya started as a clarinet player in sixth grade and then switched to playing the oboe. She struggled for a while with the oboe and at times wanted to give up and go back to clarinet. However, through her hard work and perseverance, she overcame many obstacles and found the heart to really practice and work through those difficulties.
She has come so far and and is now a wonderful oboist with the 8th grade band. She truly is proof that work and determination supersedes simple talent. Mya was able to tour some of the elementary schools with her oboe and she was a member of the Middle Level Honors Band. Congrats Mya, this recognition was well earned.
