Delores O. Procknow

Delores O. Procknow, 86, of Merrill, passed away Sunday, March 10, 2019 at the House of the Dove in Marshfield. Delores was born May 4, 1932, in the Town of Corning, Lincoln County, daughter of the late Martin and Selma (Berndt) Oestreich.  She married Melvin ‘Sam’ Procknow on May 12, 1951.  He preceded her in death on February 28, 1998.  Delores was a homemaker, but also worked many years outside the home.  She worked for more than 25 years as a nurses’ aid and laundry assistant at the former Holy Cross Hospital in Merrill.  She also worked for three years at Dr. Bigelow’s office, nine years at Weinbrenner Shoe Company, and three years at Short’s 5 and Dime, all in Merrill.  Delores was always available for her family with open arms.  She enjoyed spending time with her family and always wanted to help and stay busy.Delores enjoyed sewing, crocheting, knitting and cooking.  She also enjoyed playing cards and working on crossword puzzles.  Delores was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church, Town of Corning, Lincoln County.

Survivors include her daughters, Pamela (Roger) Tischendorf of Marshfield and Iris Schuelke (Jeff Swope) of Tomahawk; grandchildren, Rick (Lori) Tischendorf of Marshfield, Randy (Jane) Tischendorf of Marshfield, Todd (Marla) Tischendorf of Pittsburgh, PA, Tammi (Jack) Pernsteiner of Marshfield, Laura Schuelke (Bruce) of Minnesota and David (Becca) Schuelke of Merrill; 12 great-grandchildren; 15 great-great-grandchildren; and brothers, Gerald Oestreich and Edgar (Nila) Oestreich, both of Merrill.  Delores was preceded in death by her husband, Melvin ‘Sam’ Procknow; parents, Martin and Selma Oestreich; and sister-in-law, Phyllis Oestreich. The family would like to extend a hearfelt thankyou to the Marshfield Medical Center 4 North staff and the I.C.U. staff.  They would also like to thank the House of the Dove for their compassionate care during Mom’s stay. 

The funeral service for Delores will be held at 11:00 A.M. Friday, March 15, 2019 at Immanuel Lutheran Church, Town of Corning.  Rev. Joel Danner will officiate.  Burial will take place in Immanuel Lutheran Church Cemetery.  Visitation will be from 4:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M.
