Mother nature tried hard to thwart the efforts of the Merrill Ice Draggers last Saturday February 16. on the Championship Race day. Record snowfall throughout Wisconsin proved to be a huge issue for The Merrill Ice Draggers. Several days of plowing over 20 inches of snow and warm temps did a number on the race lanes. The final races were run on two tight lanes with soft ice. But as always the show must go on. Fans ventured from as far as Missouri and Alaska just to watch the 54 year-old event on Lake Alexander. Last year’s popularity with “RoadKill” and 1320 video were enough for these diehard race fans to make the trip. The Merrill Ice Draggers Inc. did not disappoint either. Large racer count and a beautiful sunny day made the day a success. Thank you to all the sponsors for the 2019 Season. The M.I.D couldn’t do it with out you. And of course the racers are the reason for the success of the event. You are all amazing racers and should be proud of your race season. Next week the championship final points will be posted.
