Bitter cold triggers early dismissal for MAPS

Earlier this morning Merrill Area Public Schools announced via social media; students will be released two hours early today and classes have been cancelled for tomorrow.
“In the interest of student safety, we are releasing all students two hours early today, Tuesday, January 29, due to extremely cold temperatures. There is no afternoon 4K or Head Start. High school athletic practice will be dismissed at 5:00 today. School is also cancelled for tomorrow, Wednesday, January 30. Please share.

Record setting bitter cold temperatures are expected today and tomorrow, as actual temperatures are projected to reach the double digits below zero and  wind chills ranging from 30-50 degree below zero.
