Bluejacks beat Pacelli in high scoring affair

On Tuesday night the Merrill/Wausau East Bluejacks hosted Stevens Point Pacelli in a non conference game. It was a back and forth game with both teams scoring a lot of goals. The Bluejacks would end up on top, winning by a final score of 10-6.
The first period was very even, with both teams sending nine shots on goal. Pacelli would lead after the first period by a slim margin of 3-2. EMU (East-Merrill United) would score the first goal only two minutes into the game. Ian Raddatz would find the back of the net on a short handed goal, assisted by Greg Glovinski. Pacelli scored the next two goals to take a 2-1 lead, however the Bluejacks would tie the game with a James Pawlicki goal, assisted by Christian Matson and Raddatz. One more Pacelli goal gave them the lead going into period two.
The second period saw Merrill score four straight goals to take the lead. Brennan Harsh started things off with a short handed goal two minutes into the period, assisted by Glovinski. Pawlicki then scored another goal, assisted by Jack Piskula. Matson would score the next two goals, with Piskula assisting on one of them. Pacelli scored one goal in the period as the Bluejacks lead 6-4.
In the final period Pacelli would get an early goal to make it a one score game. EMU then responded with a goal from Blake Raddatz, assisted by Jared Heller. Pacelli scored another goal to keep the game close, however the Bluejacks then scored three straight to take the 10-6 win. Matson would score two more goals unassisted and Blake Raddatz would score one more, assisted by Eli Pagel.
Caleb McCorkle was in goal for the Bluejacks and would save 16 of the 22 shots send on goal by Pacelli. Matson would score four goals for EMU and have one assist on the game. Blake Raddatz and James Pawlicki each scored two goals and Ian Raddatz and Brennan Harsh each scored one.
The Bluejacks will be at the MARC on Thursday night as they host SPASH in a conference showdown, starting at 7 p.m.
