Carol A. Ruder, age 61, of Merrill, WI, passed away peacefully with loved ones by her side on Friday, January 4, 2019, at Seasons of Life Hospice House in Woodruff, WI. Carol was born in Ft. Wayne, IN, on September 3, 1957. She was married to James Ruder on April 20, 1994; he survives.
Carol was raised and educated in St. Louis, MO. She moved to Wisconsin in the 80’s where she experienced her first true state with all four seasons. For nearly four decades, Carol grew to love and adore the flora and fauna of Northcentral Wisconsin. She took advantage by snowmobiling, fishing, camping, playing cribbage, watching the Packers, and seeing the fall colors. With 14 years of Wisconsin River living, Carol loved migrating birds, especially ducks, with her personal pet mallards, George and Liije. Carol was a brilliant, proud mother to her daughters, Katie and Ashley. She will be sadly missed by all that she loved.
Survivors include her Husband, James Ruder; 2 Daughters, Katie (David) Pirie, and Ashley (Matt) Kane; 1 Sister, Claire; and 1 Brother, Eddie. She is further survived by her pet duck, Liije.
Carol was preceded in death by her Mother, Dorothy Kane Frasier; her Brother, Michael; and her pet duck, George.
In accordance with Carol’s wishes, a private Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
