Start the New Year strong at Riverside Athletic Club

Riverside Athletic Club invites its members and the local community to participate in “Move it and Lose it” weight loss challenge. This is a 16-week motivational weight loss program designed to help participants keep their New Year’s resolutions and maintain a healthy and active lifestyle year-round. The program will begin the week of Jan. 6 and end the week of April 22, 2019.

Move it and Lose it weigh-ins begin on Jan. 6. Participants must weigh in for the first time during the week of Jan. 6-12 and pay a $20 registration fee.

Subsequent weekly weigh-ins well be held every week (Sunday through Saturday) at Riverside and each participant must weigh-in weekly to be eligible for the grand prize. If a participants increases their weight during any given week, they must pay $1 for every pound they gain and they keep paying this every week until they get back to or below their lowest weigh-in weight. If a participants stays the same or decreases weight, they will pay nothing more. If they lose weight, their subsequent weigh-ins need to be at or below their new weight.

Participants’ weight needs to be at or below their lowest weigh-in at the end of the contest in order to be entered into the final drawing for the grand prize.

Three names will be drawn at the end of the contest and the cash prize will be split. The more people who participate, the higher the split at the end.

Riverside Athletic Club will be hosting several activities throughout the contest to help participants stay motivated and focused including every Monday in January’s will be “Family Fit” day where any current members can bring in any family member for free on Mondays as well as anyone who is participating in this contest and not a current RAC member.

Riverside Athletic Club also will be holding a January Triple Treat where participants will enjoy a 60 minute class on Jan. 6, Jan. 13 and Jan. 27 from 2-3 p.m. where you will focus on strength, cardio and abdominals. This class will be geared towards all ability levels and able to be scaled accordingly. This class will be free to anyone who is signed up to participate in the Move it and Lose it contest.

Additionally, Riverside Athletic Club will have their own Paul Heinzen, a motivated member who wants to share his incredible story of weight loss, courage, and physical fitness. He will speak on Tuesday, Jan. 29 at 6:15 p.m. in the gymnasium located at Riverside Athletic Club and this is a free session for anyone to come and be inspired.
