Irene M. Leder

Irene M. Leder, age 98, of Merrill, passed away on Tuesday, December 4, 2018 at Pine Crest Nursing Home, while under the care of Ascension Ministry Hospice.  She was born on October 23, 1920 to the late Michael and Josephine (Jablonski) Myszka in Merrill.  Irene attended French Ridge Grade School.  She married the love of her life, Theodore ‘Ted’ Anthony Leder, on November 23, 1939 at St. John The Baptist Catholic Church in Bloomville, WI.  Sadly, he preceded her in death on January 11, 2005.

Together, they raised 5 girls and 5 boys.  Irene was a homemaker and caretaker for her father, father-in-law and grandchildren.  She especially enjoyed quilting, playing cards, singing in the church choir, dancing, baking and spending time with her family.  Irene loved to spoil her grandchildren!  She was a member of the Altar Society at St. John The Baptist Catholic Church in Bloomville, WI, was a choir member and taught CCD for 35 years.  Most of all, Irene was proud to be the “World’s Best Mom”!  She was a kind and generous woman, with a gentle soul and a warm smile. She will be sadly missed.

Irene is survived by her 9 children: Dolores (John) O’Donnell of Florida, Peggy (Jerome) Monti of Gleason, Ron (Gloria) Leder of Gleason, Ted (Nancy) Leder Jr. of Gleason, Josie (Mark) Ollhoff of Wausau, Kris (Perry) Block of Merrill, Matt (Kim) Leder of Merrill, Tim Leder of Oregon and Jane Helm of Wausau, 28 grandchildren, 37 great grandchildren, sisters: Margaret Hall of Merrill and Kathy Vignali of Stambaugh, MI, and numerous nieces and nephews.  She was preceded in death by her parents, husband: Ted Leder Sr., son: Mike Leder, 8 brothers and 2 sisters.

A Mass of Christian Burial for Irene will be held on Friday, December 7, 2018 at 11am at St. John The Baptist Catholic Church in Bloomville, WI.  Father Chris Kemp will officiate.  Visitation will be held on Thursday, December 6, 2018 at Waid Funeral Home from 5pm-7pm, and again at the church on Friday, December 7, 2018 from 10am until the time of Mass.  Burial at St. John The Baptist Catholic Cemetery will immediately follow Mass.
