Merrill Police reports

July 30
9:34 a.m.- Officers responded to the probation and parole office to take a male party into custody on a probation violation. The male was transported to the jail.
4:22 p.m.- Officers responded to a disorderly conduct complaint. The caller was a landlord and had given the tenants the correct notice to come to the property. When the landlord arrived, one of the tenants began cursing at the caller and used derogatory language towards them. Officers stood by while the landlord conducted their business and one tenant was cited for disorderly conduct, due to her actions.

July 31
7:05 a.m.- An officer responded to a burglary complaint. A business had $600 stolen from them sometime overnight. Investigation is ongoing.
11:18 a.m.- An officer responded to an animal complaint. The caller advised their son was chased by a dog. The same incident had been reported previously and the owner was warned. The dog owner was cited for animal at large.
1:54 p.m.- An officer responded to a theft complaint. The caller advised four nights ago, they had their watch stolen while they were playing volleyball at a bar. Investigation is ongoing.

August 1
2:53 p.m.- A male was arrested for a probation violation at the request of the Wisconsin Dept. of Corrections.

August 2
11:31 a.m.- A male was arrested for a probation violation at the request of the Wisconsin Department of Corrections.
11:41 a.m.- A male was arrested for a probation violation at the request of the Wisconsin Department of Corrections.
1:32 p.m.- A male was arrested for a probation violation at the request of the Wisconsin Department of Corrections.
6:10 p.m.- A female arrived at the Lincoln County Jail to turn herself in for a warrant through Taylor County. She was formally arrested for the warrant.

August 3
4:36 p.m.- A female party called the police department to report an animal at large from six days ago. The caller advised two dogs ran after her children and growled. In this instance, the owners were warned for animal at large.

August 5
9:06 a.m.- An officer responded to a theft complaint. The caller advised a male juvenile had come into their yard, made entry into a shed, threw yard décor into a pond and stole a doll stroller. Contact was made with the father of the child. He stated he and his wife were sleeping while the juvenile child was being watched by his older siblings. This is an ongoing issue. The male juvenile is being referred to Social Services for theft and the parents are being referred to the District Attorney for consideration of child neglect charges.
10:12 a.m.- An officer responded to a theft complaint. The caller stated the upstairs tenant was using an extension cord of her basement, using her electricity. After an investigation as completed, the male tenant upstairs was cited for theft of electricity.
2:05 p.m.- An officer responded to a fight. Two juveniles were at a park and one struck the other in the face. The juvenile is being referred to Social Services for battery.
2:30 p.m.- Officers responded to a park for a drug activity complaint. The caller stated two males were in a park and were using marijuana and other drugs. Officers made contact with the two males and there was no odor of marijuana present. In running both parties, one male was in violation of his probation and parole rules by being in the presence of anyone under the age of 18. He was arrested for a probation violation. The other male was also on probation and they also placed a hold on him. He was arrested for a probation violation.
