Halloween Fun for Kids with City Band June 20

The City Band opens the 2018 season with the annual costume concert on Wednesday June 20, this year is a Halloween theme. Audience members are encouraged to join the band in dressing up for the event. One lucky person in costume will leave the concert with a great prize.
Free kids activities, games, and prizes begin at 5 PM at Normal Park, preceding the 7 PM annual Merrill City Band costume concert. The band is partnering with the Haunted Sawmill and Vincent Mudgett will be there.

Free 2018 ticket vouchers to the Haunted Sawmill will be given out throughout the night to some lucky kids in costume. Activities include face painting, coloring contest, digging for graveyard gold, leery limbo, fishing for zombie duckies, pumpkin pitch, and spooky spin, along with Halloween cutouts for photos. There are prizes for all participants and a free hot dog goes to kids in costume.
Best costume prizes will be awarded to a boy and a girl, and there are special prizes for the coloring contest winners in three age groups. Winners will get to participate with the children’s choir on “Did You Hear That Sound?” A parade of the little monsters will be held toward the beginning of the concert and all marchers will receive a goodie bag, along with a coupon for free ice cream from Culver’s, Cup N Cone, or Dairy Queen.
The Lions Club concessions will have cheeseburgers, hamburgers, hot dogs, chips, water, and soda. Band Boosters will be offering pie and ice cream. The Rotary Club will have cotton candy and HAVEN will have popcorn and lemonade. Winchester will open for the City Band at 5 PM, with the City Band performance beginning at 7 PM.
In the event of inclement weatht and activities will be held on Wednesday, June 27th.
