MHS Sophomore Russell Detmerring has enjoyed another prolific season as a member of the MHS varsity Boys Gold team this Spring. In addition to claiming his second consecutive Wisconsin Valley Conference (WVC) championship this season, Detmerring swung his way into the WIAA Individual and Team Golf Tournament at the University Ridge Golf Course in Verona, Monday morning.
In addition to enjoying his time on the green, Russell has enjoyed helping out with junior golfers at the Merrill Golf Course for the past five years.
Son of Nick and Melissa Detmerring of Merrill, Russell aspires to one day attend and play golf at the University of Alabama-Tuscaloosa.
Russell would go on to place fifth at the WIAA WIAA Individual and Team Golf Tournament on Tuesday
