A 25-year-old Merrill woman was arrested Tuesday evening on a bail jumping charge. A deputy stopped the vehicle she was operating at 6:34 p.m. A check showed the woman’s driver’s license was suspended and she was on bond through the Marathon County Court. As a condition of bond the woman was not allowed to operate a motor vehicle without a valid license.

A 37-year-old Merrill woman was arrested Thursday morning on warrant charges. A deputy found her at a residence in the City of Merrill when he was serving civil process papers. The woman was wanted for failing to appear on charges including disorderly conduct and bail jumping.

A 34-year-old Rhinelander man was arrested early Friday morning after deputies investigated a suspicious person report in Tomahawk. When deputies made contact with the man they found he was wanted by the Wisconsin Department of Corrections for a probation violation. The K9 Nina checked the man’s vehicle and indicated it contained drugs. Deputies found numerous items of drug paraphernalia. The man was arrested on the warrant charge. Deputies are awaiting test results before forwarding drug charges to the Lincoln County District Attorney.

A 37-year-old Wausau man was injured following an ATV crash Sunday afternoon in the Town of Birch. Deputies along with Sheriff Jaeger responded to the Turtle Lake Road ATV parking area north of County Rd. J where the victim was brought by other riders. The man was transported by ambulance to the intersection of County Rd. J and County Rd. H where they met the MedEVac Helicopter. The man was then flown to the trauma center at Aspirus Wausau Hospital. Alcohol does not appear to be a factor in the crash.

The fire danger threat remains high. Deputies checked a report of unauthorized burning last week. Pine River and the DNR responded to a grass fire Monday afternoon on County Rd. W south of Center Road. On Wednesday the Tomahawk Fire Department and the DNR responded to Muskellunge Lake Road in the Town of Bradley after a grass fire was reported.

The number of car deer crashes remains low with three being reported this past week. A Merrill woman struck a turkey Friday evening on State Rd. 17 near Sunrise Road causing minor damage to her vehicle.
