MAPS to make up for snow day on April 27

Due to the unusual snow fall and inclement weather that we had this season, an additional day will need to be made up by students in the Merrill Area Public Schools district. At last night’s regular board meeting, the MAPS Board of Education voted to approve April 27 as that make-up day. This date was originally scheduled as a staff development day on the 2017-18 calendar.

The Summer School Schedule has also been revised to accommodate the teacher make-up days at the end of the school year. While Summer School will start two days later, it will end on the same date as originally planned in order to minimize the disruption to families and their schedules. It will also remain the same length as the duration of 12 days has not changed.

Summer School Dates
Week 1 – June 13-15
Week 2 – June 18-22
Week 3 – June 25-28

An amended calendar has been placed on the District’s website at http://www.mapsedu.org/district/school-calendar.cfm and is available in all school offices.

“Please note that should we have additional cancellations, we will be required to extend the school year,” said MAPS Superintendent Dr. John Sample.
