City declares snow emergency
Friday afternoon, the Merrill Police Department announced a Snow Emergency in effect from tonight through Sunday nights
According to a press release issued by the department:
“In order to facilitate the plowing and removal of snow, as well as to minimize the inconvenience on the citizenry, a Snow Emergency will be in effect during the following times:
Saturday April 14, 2018 from 12:00AM-8:00AM (Friday night)
Sunday April 15, 2018 from 12:00AM-8:00AM (Saturday night)
Monday April 16, 2018 from 12:00AM-8:00AM (Sunday night)
“Vehicles are not to be parked on streets during this time period. Vehicles which are parked on city streets are subject to being ticketed and/or towed at the vehicle owner’s expense. The forfeiture for parking on the street during a snow emergency is $20. It is very important for vehicles to be off the streets so snow plowing operations can be successful and safe.”
