Escaped prison inmate remains at large

An inmate who escaped from Gordon Minimum Security complex Saturday night, remains at large.

The Wisconsin Department of Corrections (WDOC) is asking for the public’s assistance in locating escaped inmate; 41-year old Michael Lee Brabbs.
According to a press release issued by the WDOC late Saturday night, Brabbs escaped from the Gordon Correctional Center, a minimum security facility located approximately 40 miles southeast of Superior. Prior to his escape, Brabbs was nearing the end of a 7 1/2 year prison sentence handed down in 2011; stemming from Felony convictions of 1st Degree Recklessly Endangering Safety, 5th Offense-Operating a Motor Vehicle While Intoxicated, Vehicle Operator Fleeing/Eluding an Officer and a Misdemeanor charge of Resisting an Officer.
The escape incident has been reported to the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office.

Anyone with information regarding the whereabouts of this inmate should immediately contact law enforcement.
Brabbs is described as a white male; approximately 5″10, 200 lbs with brown hair and hazel eyes.

As of Monday afternoon, the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office and WDOC report Brabbs has yet to be located.
