Lincoln County Sheriff’s reports

Just after 11 a.m. last Monday a caller reported a vehicle had left the road in the Town of Harrison and a child was not breathing. Sheriff Jaeger and deputies along with Tomahawk EMS, Tomahawk Fire and Oneida County EMS and Crescent Fire responded to the area of County Rd. A west of State Rd. 17 to search for the reported crash. Contact was made with the reported driver of the crashed vehicle and it was learned she was not in a crash at all and was in the City of Rhinelander. The Rhinelander Police Department took over the investigation into the call.

A 46-year-old Tripoli woman was injured following a single vehicle crash early Tuesday morning in the Town of Somo. The woman was traveling south on County Rd. T when she swerved to miss a deer, left the roadway and struck trees. The crash happened at 5:09 a.m. She was transported by ambulance for treatment of non-life threatening injuries.

Two people were injured following a two vehicle crash Tuesday morning in the Town of Bradley. At 10:55 a.m. a cell 911 call reported the crash at US Hwy. 8 and County Rd. Y. Both drivers, an 81-year-old Tomahawk woman and a 76-year-old Tomahawk man were transported by ambulance for non-life threatening injuries. Traffic was re-routed on US Hwy. 8 for about an hour. The Wisconsin State Patrol is handling the crash report.

A 55-year-old Merrill man was arrested Tuesday afternoon on a warrant charge. A deputy stopped the vehicle the man was a passenger in. A check showed the man was wanted by the Lincoln County Courts for violating the terms of a no contact order.

A 19-year-old Rhinelander man was arrested on warrant charges Tuesday afternoon in the Town of Pine River. A deputy went to a home after a report was received that a wanted person was there. A check confirmed warrants through Oneida County and the Wisconsin Department of Corrections for probation violation.

A 57-year-old man from New York was injured Tuesday afternoon following a crash in the Town of Harrison. The man was riding an off road motorbike on a trail off of County Rd. B near Keg Road when he crashed. He was treated and released for non-life threatening injuries.

A 50-year-old Park Falls woman was arrested Wednesday afternoon on a warrant charge. A deputy stopped the vehicle the woman was operating on US Hwy. 51 at Lincoln Drive for speeding. A check showed the woman had no driver’s license and was wanted by the Oneida County Sheriff for contempt of court.

A 25-year-old Wausau woman was arrested Thursday morning on warrants (methamphetamine possession and theft) through the Marathon County Sheriff after a traffic stop in the Town of Corning. A deputy stopped the vehicle the woman was driving on State Rd. 107 south of Highland Drive.

A 47-year-old Tomahawk woman was arrested Thursday night following a traffic stop in the Town of Harrison. A deputy stopped the vehicle the woman was driving on County Rd. D at Gouda Road. When the K9 unit Poncho indicated the vehicle contained drugs, a search turned up methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia. The woman was charged with the drug charges along with two counts of misdemeanor bail jumping. A 23-year-old Gleason man was arrested Thursday evening on a traffic charge. The man put his pickup truck in the ditch on State Rd. 64 and State Rd. 17 at 9:15 p.m. The driver showed signs of impairment and was taken into custody for a first offense of operating a motor vehicle while intoxicated.

A 57-year-old Irma woman was arrested early Friday morning after deputies responded to a crash in the Town of Birch. At 3:37 a.m. a caller reported a passenger car off the road on County Rd. J east of County Rd. H. The driver was arrested on a charge of operating a motor vehicle while intoxicated, second offense.

A 34-year-old Merrill man was arrested Friday evening on charges related to a disturbance in the Town of Corning. At 6:30 p.m., deputies responded to the incident. The man was taken into custody on a charge of disorderly conduct.

A 63-year-old Minnesota man was injured Saturday afternoon after a motorcycle crash in the Town of Bradley. Deputies and Tomahawk EMS responded to Loop Road at Sunset Point Road at 1:43 p.m. after a cell caller reported a crash. He was transported by ambulance for treatment of non-life threatening injuries.

A 40-year-old Wittenberg man was injured following a single motorcycle crash Saturday afternoon in the Town of Harrison. The man was transported by Tomahawk EMS for non-life threatening injuries.

A 53-year-old Tomahawk man was arrested early Sunday morning on a criminal traffic charge. A deputy made contact with the man on County Rd. K at Maple Road after he was found stopped on the side of the road. The man showed signs of impairment and was taken into custody for third offense of operating a motor vehicle while intoxicated, he was also cited for driving while suspended.

A 28-year-old Tomahawk man was arrested early Sunday morning on drug charges. Deputies responded to a residence for a welfare check. When deputies made contact with the party they found marijuana, methamphetamine, prescription pills that were not prescribed to him and drug paraphernalia.

A 65-year-old Eau Claire man was taken into custody Sunday evening on a traffic charge. A deputy located and stopped the vehicle after he observed its driving. The driver was cited for first offense operating a motor vehicle while intoxicated.

The number of car deer crashes has almost doubles as compared to last week. Fifteen people reported striking deer this past week in Lincoln County.
