Christopher “Chris” R. Sconzert

Christopher “Chris” R. Sconzert, age 63, died unexpectedly on Monday, November 21, 2016 at Good Samaritan Health Center in Merrill. He was born on January 28, 1953 in Denver, Colorado to the late William and Delores (Unertl) Sconzert. On December 11, 1982 he and Deb Lewis were united in marriage in Wausau. She survives.

Chris graduated from Wausau West High School in Wausau and went on to the Northcentral Technical College for 2 years. He worked at Menzner Lumber in Marathon for 26 years before joining Weinbrenner Shoe Factory on their assembly line. Chris enjoyed reading, hunting, fishing with his grandkids and watching all sports. He faithfully took his son, Tony, to Special Olympic Activities. Chris loved his grandchildren and loved spending time with them. He was a kind, patient, happy, wise and funny man that will be greatly missed. Chris also enjoyed attending St. Francis Catholic Church every now and then.

Survivors include his wife of nearly 34 years: Deb Sconzert, Merrill; daughter: Shannon Zepeda, Weston; son: Anthony Sconzert, Merrill; four grandchildren: Alyvia Sconsert, Zander Buntrock, Alex Zepeda and Angelina Zepeda; son-in-law: Oracio Zepeda, Wausau; brother: Alan (Sue) Sconzert, Lake Charles, LA; one sister: Deb (Mitch) Eisen, Sturgeon Bay; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and three brothers, Bruce Sconzert, Francis Sconzert and Everett Sconzert.

A Memorial Service for Chris will be held at 12 Noon on Saturday, December 3, 2016 at Waid Funeral Home. Rev. Missy Holdorf will officiate. Visitation will be from 10 AM until the time of service, also at the funeral home. Inurnment will take place at a later date at Restlawn Memorial Park.
