Thursday morning, Tomahawk Police Chief Al Elvins and officers of the Tomahawk Police Department hosted the department’s second ‘Coffee with a Cop Event’ at the Rodeo Saloon, courtesy of owners Patty and Henry Tholl.
The event drew a higher turnout than the department’s first event held last month at Cafe on Main, according to Elvins.
Also in attendance on Thursday were newly elected mayor Steve Taskay as well as local business owners and community members, including Augie of Augie’s Collectables.

Topics of discussion Thursday ranged from concealed carry related questions to public perception of law enforcement, police operations/procedure and the TPD’s ‘Drug Takeback Initiative’. The recent rash of tragic events affecting the law enforcement community was also a key source of discussion, during the two hour event.

Following the event, Elvins expressed optimism for the future of the event as well as the department’s appreciation for the hospitality of the Rodeo Saloon and Cafe on Main. Elvins indicated the department’s intent to continue the event on a monthly basis.
