Merrill Police Reports

August 29
12:51 p.m.- An officer investigated a domestic disturbance. As a result, a male was arrested for Domestic Related Disorderly Conduct and Battery.
4:26 p.m.- A male was arrested and taken to jail for a Probation Violation.
8:01 p.m.- Officers responded to 110 N. Prospect St. for a Disorderly Conduct complaint. As a result, a male was cited for Disorderly Conduct.

August 30
8:50 p.m.- An officer investigated a shoplifting at Walmart. The suspects have been identified and charges will be forthcoming.
9:49 p.m.- Officers responded to a welfare check at a gas station in reference to a female passed out in the vehicle. The female was ultimately arrested for OWI 2nd offense.

August 31
8:14 a.m.- A caller reported a road rage incident that occurred on Taylor Street. The caller reported a vehicle he had been following pulled to the side of the road for an unknown reason. He went by and the other driver attempted to pass him so he pulled over to allow this. He stated the driver stopped next to him, yelling at him to get out of Merrill and never return. He threatened to batter him and shoot him if he ever returned to Merrill again. The investigation continues.
5:52 p.m.- A crash was reported on E. 6th Street at Spruce Street. A vehicle had failed to yield right of way to the vehicle on E. 6th Street. The driver swerved to avoid collision and ended up striking a stop sign and fire hydrant. A crash report was completed and the offending driver cited for failure to yield right of way.
8:14 p.m.- A caller reported a male at his residence threatening to come inside. This stemmed from a fight complaint at this same residence last week. When officers arrived it was found two men were in the driveway and a female was telling them to leave. One of the males fled and led officers on a foot pursuit. The other male left also and was located at a nearby residence. He was arrested for disorderly conduct. The man who fled is known and action will follow.

September 1
2:38 p.m.- A 15-year-old male was cited for underage possession of tobacco after he was located smoking a cigarette.
9:18 p.m.- A caller reported a group of men “partying” in a van in the parking lot of a store. The caller stated one of them had been dancing on the roof of the vehicle and she feared they were intoxicated. An officer located two men by the van repairing a burned out bulb. One man admitted he had been dancing around and “acting silly” while his friend repaired the bulb. The vehicle was repaired and they left the store.
