Two injured in Town of Harrison UTV fire

Saturday afternoon at approximately 3:24 PM, the Lincoln County Sheriffs Office received a report of a UTV which caught fire in the Town of Harrison, before spreading into nearby vegetation.
Town of Crescent Fire Department (Oneida County), Town of Russell Fire, Tomahawk EMS, a DNR Park Ranger and deputies from the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office responded to the scene.
Upon further investigation, it was learned the UTV was traveling along a trail in the area when a spare gasoline container tipped over and spilled onto the engine of the vehicle igniting the fire. The operator then threw the container onto the trail which ignited a small vegetation fire. The operator and passengers were able to extinguish the fires but the UTV reportedly sustained substantial fire damage.
The operator sustained burns to both hands while the passenger sustained burns to her left arm. There were no other injuries reported.
