Patricia ‘Pat’ Turner

Patricia “Pat” Ann Turner, age 75, of Wausau, formerly of Merrill, passed away unexpectedly on Mother’s Day, May 8, 2016 at her home. She was born January 21, 1941 in Kennan, WI to the late Richard A. and Leona (Baeten) Retzlaff.

Pat attended and graduated from Wisconsin Rapids High School. She served her country in the United States Navy. She managed her area at Dave’s County Market in Merrill until her retirement in 2013. Pat worked at Red Owl before it became County Market and prior to that worked at Nelson’s Drug and Photo (Rexall) in their photo department. She enjoyed watching golf on TV, especially Tiger Woods, and was an avid Packer fan. Pat most recently enjoyed coloring in adult coloring books, puzzles and coloring with Hannah. She loved her grandchildren, who were very important to her and she was very close with her daughter-in-law, Lisa. Pat was a dedicated Mother and wonderful grandmother. She was a past member of Jaycee’s, Cub Scout Leader and Democratic Party. Pat used to be very involved at St. Stephen’s UCC until her move to Wausau.

Pat is survived by her two sons: Ronald L. Turner and William R. Turner, both of Merrill; daughter-in-law: Lisa Turner, Rothschild; five grandchildren: Andrew, Joseph (fiancé Heather), Steven, Hannah and Chloe; two brothers: Mike (Eileen) Retzlaff, Ohio, and Jim (Julie) Retzlaff, Montana; three sisters: Sharon Groff, Wausau, Kathy (Patrick) Woller, Merrill, Sandy (Brad) Sutton, Chetek; sister-in-law: Carol Retzlaff, Marshfield, numerous nieces and nephews; and many good friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, Richard & Leona Retzlaff, and brother, Richard H. Retzlaff.

A private military service performed by Merrill VFW Post#1638 will be held at a later date. Waid Funeral Home of Merrill is assisting the family with arrangements. Online condolences may be made at www.waidfuneral.com.
