“The National Weather Service has issued a Winter Storm Warning for heavy snow and blowing snow in effect from 4pm this afternoon to 1pm tomorrow (Thursday). NWS is forecasting a total snow accumulation of 8 to 12 inches of snow for our area. Therefore, it is necessary that we reinstate the winter parking regulations in the city of Merrill. Beginning tonight there will be no parking allowed on thestreets from 1am-6am and odd/even parking is in effect during all other hours. The winter parking restrictions had been suspended due to our early spring conditions…..by ordinance winter parking restrictions are in effect until April 1st. If it looks likely that we will receive this amount of snow, we may be declaring a snow emergency later today or tonight. Please prepare yourself for this potentially dangerous storm and make sure your vehicles are off the street to facilitate snow removal.”
