Rec Deputy warns of thinning ice

The Lincoln County Recreation Deputy is once again reminding anglers that the ice is thinning rapidly. Last Monday night a Merrill man contacted the Sheriff’s Office to report his pickup truck went through the ice as he was exiting Lake Alexander at Badeau’s Bay. The driver made it out safely as the truck sank into about four feet of water.

The information was passed to the DNR and the truck was removed by Wednesday afternoon.

The Rec. Deputy is also investigating after trash including a table and some buckets were left on the ice on Lake Alexander.
