The Rotary Club of Merrill has designated $7,500 for the initial development of horticultural areas surrounding the Agra Pavilion at the south end of Park Street, and for Rotary Park, a green space, across from the pavilion. Work will begin in the spring.
This project is one of several by the Merrill Rotary Club for the River Bend Trail. Other projects have included monies for trail purchases, for lighting of the trail and to help organize a successful fund raising event with the Green Bay Packers.
“The Merrill Rotary Club is proud to sponsor the development of the trail and all of the beautification efforts surrounding this new trailhead park,” stated Val Mindak, President of the Merrill Rotary Club.
The Rotary Club has been instrumental in making the River Bend Trail a reality and this new park area will be a wonderful addition to the Merrill community.
