A 43-year-old Merrill man was arrested Tuesday evening on a warrant charge. Deputies went to a residence on Pier Street in the Town of Merrill after a tip reported a wanted person was there. Deputies found the man and took him into custody on a Lincoln County warrant charging him with possession of methamphetamine, along with two misdemeanor drug charges and two felony counts of bail jumping. The man was being sought after he failed to appear in December for a hearing. After a bond hearing on Wednesday the man was held on a $5,000 cash bond.
Tomahawk Firefighters along with a deputy responded to a report of an out building fire Thursday morning. Just before noon a caller reported an out building used for maple syrup production had started on fire in the Town of Skanawan. Firefighters from Tomahawk extinguished the fire and prevented it spreading to other buildings.
A 25-year-old Tomahawk man was arrested Friday afternoon on warrants. The deputy assigned to security at the Lincoln County Court House took the man into custody on warrants through the Merrill Municipal Courts. The man appeared at a court hearing and the warrants were found during a routine check.
A 24-year-old Tripoli man was taken into custody late Saturday night after a deputy responded to a report of a vehicle in a yard in the Town of Tomahawk. At 11 p.m. a resident reported that a vehicle had driven off of the Spirit Flowage into his yard and struck his septic tank vent. The responding deputy noted the man displayed signs of intoxication and placed him through field sobriety tests. As a result of those tests the man was cited for a first offense of operating a motor vehicle while intoxicated. He was later released to a responsible party.
A 33-year-old Shawano man was arrested Sunday afternoon on a warrant charge. The man came to the Lincoln County Jail to collect his personal property as he had recently been released from jail on another matter. When jail staff checked, they found he was wanted by the Wisconsin Department of Corrections for again violating terms of his probation. He was booked on the warrant charge and issued a citation for obstructing following an investigation completed by the responding deputy.
Six people struck deer this past week, that is down slightly from last week.
