Letter to the community

This is a BIG thank you going out to the Merrill community and the neighboring communities. Thank you for donating, for caring, for feeding, for your patience, for supporting, for offering, for loving, for asking, for listening, for understanding, for helping, for giving, for grieving with us, for keeping us in your prayers, for taking burdens and responsibilities that weren’t yours to carry.
My family and I are forever grateful to you, the numerous people (who are too many to name – sorry) who have come forward and continue to do so to help carry us through this dark, heart-breaking time. As we care the devastating loss of our home and ongoing health issues we never feel alone, thanks to you all.
It will take the rest of our lives to pay forward the overwhelming generosity that has come our way from friends near and far, family members, church families, neighbors, businesses, co-workers, teammates, parents, teachers, students, health care providers, officers, firefighters and complete strangers. We are humbled.
As we try to move forward day by day we want you to know that every act of kindness, great or small, has positively impacted our lives. We are a very lucky family that has truly been blessed. What an amazing community we live in!
Thank You,
Michelle, Joe, Cherish and Ben Brown

Editor’s note: The Brown family’s Merrill home was destroyed by a fire on Oct. 22, apparently caused by arson.
