The Council Grounds Photo Contest winners were announced Friday night, Oct. 30, at the Park Shelter House during the Park’s candlelight walk. Winners in the four categories were:
•Landscape- 1st place-Eileen Hass, Merrill; 2nd place-Debra Bergh, Merrill
•Wildlife- 1st place-Polly Hagedorn, Merrill
•People Using Park- 1st place-Sarah Roth, Powderely, TX; 2nd place-Deniale Steffen, Merrill
•Plants- 1st place-Debra Bergh, Merrill, 2nd place-Daniel Acker, Wausau
This was the first year for the photo contest which was organized by the Park’s Friends Group. Final winners were determined by public voting. The Friends group was very pleased with the interest in the photo contest and plan to hold the contest again next year. The Group invites everyone to come out and enjoy the Park in every season and take photos. Watch for details for 2016’s contest in the Spring.
