Victor A. Wachsmuth, age 97, formerly of Merrill, died Tuesday, October 27, 2015, in West Bend.
Victor was born September 25, 1918, in Merrill, son of the late Carl and Helen (Emmerich) Wachsmuth. He married Ruth V. Hintze on May 29, 1943. She preceded him in death on October 4, 2011. Victor had been an independent insurance agent. He enjoyed hunting and fishing.
Survivors include two sons, Donald Wachsmuth, Janesville, and David (wife, Dyan) Wachsmuth, Jackson, Wisconsin; five grandchildren, Ryan, Sara, Heidi, Becky, and Miah Rae; two great grandchildren, Ila and Eli; one sister, Karen (Roger) Schiller, Wisconsin Rapids; and two brothers, Gerald (Barbara) Wachsmuth, Owen, Wisconsin, and Leonard (Marilyn) Wachsmuth, Grays Lake, Illinois. Besides his wife and parents, Victor is preceded in death by his siblings, Doris Hobler, Mildred Weiter, and Wallace Wachsmuth.
The funeral will begin at 11:00 AM, Tuesday, November 3, 2015, at the Taylor-Stine Funeral Home, Merrill. The Rev. Joel Hoelter will officiate. Burial will take place in Luther Memorial Lutheran Church Cemetery, Town of Russell. Visitation will begin at 9:00 AM Tuesday at the funeral home.
