Dorothymae Ament, age 88, of Merrill, died Friday, September 11, 2015, at her home.
Dorothymae was born December 4, 1926, in the Town of Schley, daughter of the late Arthur and Frances (Geiss) Heller. She married Eldor J. Ament on May 18, 1946, in St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church, Merrill. He preceded her in death on May 7, 2010. Dorothymae was employed at Weinbrenner Shoe Company, Merrill, for over 55 years. In 1952, Dorothymae and Eldor built a cabin on Bill’s Lake in Lac Du Flambeau. She enjoyed many vacations at the cabin and also enjoyed fishing muskies. Dorothymae also enjoyed reading, knitting and crocheting, crossword puzzles, and putting puzzles together.
Dorothymae is survived by one sister, Betty Ann (Jim) Okray, Merrill; two brothers, Raymond Heller, Merrill, and Arthur ‘Bud’ (Evie) Heller, Wausaukee; a brother in law, Duane Ament of Merrill; and several nieces and nephews. Besides her parents and husband, Dorothymae is preceded in death by a sister, Phyllis Mattson.
The Funeral Liturgy will begin at 10:30 AM Tuesday, September 15, 2015, at the Taylor-Stine Funeral Home, Merrill. Father Joseph Kleinheinz will preside. Burial will follow in St. Francis Xavier Catholic Cemetery, Merrill. Visitation will begin at 9:00 AM Tuesday at the funeral home.
