50 Years of Merrill Ice Draggers history on display at TB Scott Library

The Merrill Ice Draggers recently celebrated their 50th anniversary. While the races will resume in just six months on the Wisconsin River at Council Grounds, you can view memorabilia spanning 50 years of Ice Draggers history in a much more comfortable climate right now, as the latest Community ArtShare display at T.B. Scott Free Library. This collection of Merrill’s history is on exhibit on the library’s second and third floors through the month of July.
A wide assortment of items are out for viewing. Trophies, plenty of race vehicle photos (everything from a hot rod to a ‘72 Gremlin), event banners and fliers, season brochures, award banquet photos and sponsor lists will bring back memories of this remarkable Merrill institution.
You are more than welcome to visit the library to view this exhibit and all the wondrous things our library has to offer. T. B. Scott Free Library’s “Beyond Books: Community ArtShare,” features a new exhibit every two months on an ongoing basis, and was made possible by a $10,000 grant from the Mead Witter Foundation, Inc. of Wisconsin Rapids.
