Turenne makes WVC list

MHS senior Mariah Turenne caught the eye of Valley coaches after a solid season and earned Honorable Mention to the All-Valley girls basketball team.
Turenne finished 12th in scoring at 9.0 ppg, ninth in three-point percentage at .311 (19-of-61) and 15th in free throw % (.500).
“Mariah is a hard-working, great team player,” MHS coach Ross Reincke said. “She was able to carry us on her back the last 3-4 games of the season.
“She’s probably one of the better three-point shooters in the conference. When she’s on a roll, she’s definitely hard to stop.”
Senior Morgan Marnholtz was #1 in free throw % at .875, and 10th in assists (2.0 apg).
Freshman Maddix Bonnell ranked 10th in field goal % (.474), 13th in scoring (8.8 ppg) and 16th in assists (1.4 apg). Senior Starr Krenzke ranked fifth in rebounding (5.7 rpg), while junior Emily Page was ninth in assists (2.1 pg).
“Morgan and Maddix got a vote but they needed two to get Honorable Mention,” Reincke said. “The list was very much dominated by D.C. Everest and Marshfield.”
Everest is 26-0 and #1 in the state. Merrill finished sixth in the Valley at 2-10, and 6-18 overall.
