Grapplers hit 4-1

The Hatchet grapplers cruised to a 60-16 triumph over Medford on Thursday to close out the conference dual season with a 4-1 mark and trail only Rhinelander (5-0).
“We wrestled very well,” Garrou said. “We ended up upsetting I think three kids, so we were really happy with our effort. Keagan Jach pinned the conference runner-up from last year, and Slade Erdman wrestled very well to beat  a conference champ. Unfortunately, (Jacob Stamos) got injured trying a switch.”
The meet opened on an anticlimactic three forfeits to Jacob Schaper (285), Tasha Carstensen (106) and Brady Anderson (113), before Blake Carstensen (120) was pinned in 4:37. After a dual forfeit at 126, Chase Erdman (132, :37), Jach (138, 1:37) and Nate Flohr (145, 1:04) flipped it with consecutive pins. Dakota Tomek (152, 11-3) and Blake Mueller (160, 1:55) gave up the last THS losses.
S. Erdman (170, inj. def.), Kaleb Kaminski (forf.), Dane Borachrdt (195, :53) and Jake Borchardt 9220, 1:14) closed it out with max points.
