James Louis Sharon

James Louis Sharon, age 82, passed away January 22, 2015 under hospice care, after a long battle with cancer. Jim was born on March 20, 1932 in Antigo, WI to Louis “Bud” and Pauline Sharon. He graduated from Antigo High School in 1950 and then served with the US Air Force. Jim served in the motor pool during the Korean War. Upon his honorable discharge he joined his father and brother Bob at Sharon Motors in Antigo where he worked as a mechanic. Jim went on to own his own dealerships, first Sharon Chevrolet in Neva Corners and then Sharon Chevrolet, Olds and Cadillac in Merrill. Jim later went to work and then retired from the Eco Lab Company. Jim served as Town Chairman of Schoepke for many years and also served as a supervisor on the Oneida County Board. He enjoyed hunting and fishing with his sons his entire life and, he always looked forward to the annual trip to Mazatlan, Mexico with his wife Jean. He also loved flying and he held his private pilot license for many years. Jim was always known for his smile and his caring concern for others. He had a great sense of humor and was self proclaimed as the “best BS’er” around. Jim is survived by his wife Jean, his sons Steven(Jane)Sharon, David Sharon and Thomas(Tracy)Sharon, stepdaughters Wendy(Rick)Lowe and Debra(Brian)England, grandchildren Michael, Pamela and Carly Sharon and Weston Lowe, his sister in law Joyce Sharon, nieces, nephews, other family and many friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, grandson Chad Sharon and his brother Robert. He will be sadly missed by his family and friends. A visitation for Jim will be held from 1:00 PM until 3:00 PM on Saturday, February 7, 2015 at the Carlson Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, a memorial is being established in Jim’s name and contributions can be directed in care of his family. The Carlson Funeral Home (715-369-1414) is handling the arrangement for the Sharon family.
