Barbara Loskot, age 70, of Merrill, passed away Tuesday, January 6, 2014 at Pine Crest Nursing Home. She was born June 25, 1944 in Merrill to the late Harold and LuEllen (Litke) Benzinger. Barbara married Gerald Loskot in Merrill on June 26, 1964. He preceded her in death January 15, 2013.
Barbara worked as a clerk for the city directory in Milwaukee for many years. After Gerald’s retirement in 1993, they returned to Merrill. She loved to play bingo and cribbage and enjoyed watching horse races. Barbara loved going to Polka dances with Gerald. Barbara valued spending time with her grandchildren.
Survivors include her three children: Penny (Ernie) Garza, Eagle, WI, David Loskot, Merrill, and Susie Zemke, Alanta, IA; seven grandchildren: Jolena (Jeff) Davies, Sara (Haitham) Burwag, Milwaukee, Jeffrey Loskot, Jessica (Kyle) Farney, Katie Loskot, Brandon Altenburg and Jacob Garza; sister: Marlene Benzinger; special friend who was like a sister: Terry Frisch; and many other relatives. She was preceded in death by her son: Darren and two brothers, David & Roger.
Per Barbara’s wishes, there will be no services. The family would like to extend special thanks to Pine Crest for the special care they gave to Barbara.
