LeRoy Sense

LeRoy Sense, age 75, of Merrill, passed away Friday, September 5, 2014 under the care of Asera Care Hospice at his home. He was born June 20, 1939 in Merrill to the late Edward and Della (Schulz) Sense. LeRoy married JoAnn Lodholz on November 4, 1961. She preceded him in death July 4, 2007. On August 21, 2010 he married Joyce Johnson.
LeRoy attended school in the town of Scott. He was a dairy farmer and self-employed mason worker. LeRoy was a farm equipment dealer for many organizations over the years, the most recent being Berg Equipment, Gruetz Manufacturing and Freudenthal Manufacturing. He was an active member of Faith Lutheran Church. LeRoy enjoyed riding his golf cart, playing cards and going to Polka dances. He was also a member of several snowmobile clubs, Central Wisconsin Polka Club, North Central Steam Club and several card clubs.
Survivors include his wife: Joyce Sense, Merrill; three daughters: Cheryl (Rodney) Dahlke, Cindy (Brad) Salzman and Christine (Keith) Williams, all of Merrill; six step-children: Alan Johnson, Alice Peterson, Tom Johnson, Tim Johnson, Dan Johnson and Stanley Johnson; eight grandchildren; 13 step grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren; and sister: Lila Schleif. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife: JoAnn, and son: Jeffrey as well as a brother: Amos and sister: Ramona, and brother-in-law: Ted Schleif.
Funeral Services for LeRoy will be held at 11:00 AM Monday, September 8, 2014 at Faith Lutheran Church. Rev. Kevin Hoogland will officiate. Visitation will be from 4-8 PM Sunday, September 7 at Waid Funeral Home and again from 10 AM until the time of service at the church Monday. Burial will follow in Scott Cemetery. The family would like to thank the staff at Benedictine and Asera Care Hospice for their kindness and care.
