Kathy L. Szulczewski, age 57, of Merrill, died Thursday, August 7, 2014, at Ministry St. Joseph Hospital, Marshfield.
Kathy was born March 6, 1957, in Neenah, WI, daughter of the late Edward and Joyce (Helms) Streicher.  She married Daniel Szulczewski on June 23, 2001, at Our Saviour’s Lutheran Church, Merrill.  He survives.  Kathy volunteered in the Peace Corps from 1983-1984 and served in Tunisia, Africa.  Kathy was an active member of Our Saviour’s Lutheran Church.  Her involvement with the church included Youth Group, Bible Study Classes, Confirmation Classes, Choir, Vacation Bible School, and the Children’s Programs.  Kathy was also a Girl Scouts Troop Leader.  She enjoyed arts and crafts, listening to music, and watching the Green Bay Packers.  She also enjoyed many outdoor activities including rock hunting, canoeing, camping, and skiing.  Kathy and her husband, Dan, enjoyed dancing to the Blues anywhere there was good music.  
Survivors include her husband, Dan Szulczewski, of Merrill; two daughters, Laurel (Adam) Berry, of Wisconsin Rapids, and Robin Krueger, of Stevens Point; one step-daughter, Danielle (Michael) Houtz, of Cary, North Carolina; two sisters, Tammie (James) Szymanksi, of Rhinelander, and Lori (Brian Jens) Bourke, of Appleton; one brother, Donald (Marilyn) Streicher, of Freedom, WI; and many nieces, nephews, and friends.  
The memorial service will be at 6:30 P.M., Monday, August 11, 2014, at Our Saviour’s Lutheran Church, Merrill.  Pastor Dennis Creswell will officiate.  Visitation will begin at 4:30 P.M. Monday at the church.  The Taylor-Stine Funeral Home, Merrill, is assisting the family with arrangements.   
The family would like to thank the staff at Pine Crest Nursing Home for the loving care they showed Kathy the last few years.
