Enrichment Center offers art classes for 2014

Sharon Walsh stopped in at the center one day and decided this was a good fit for teaching the “One Stroke” painting technique. The “One Stroke” painting technique was developed by Donna Dewberry in 1996. She put both shading and highlighting color on the same brush, making for easy and stress free painting.  Donna is the most successful decorative painter ever and is seen weekly on PBS stations nationwide.
Sharon took the three basic classes that were offered at that time and started painting on everything. She was amazed that she could actually paint something that really looked nice. Much to her surprise, she had a lot of success painting walls in businesses and private homes and craft sales. Painting can be a lot of fun and profitable at the same time.
Sharon became a “One Stroke” Certified Instructor in August 2007 in Wausau.  She loved sharing what she learned with others.  She loved it so much that she decided to teach at her home, Michaels and Hobby Lobby.
Since her retirement from her job in Green Bay, she is so excited to get involved in the community and share her talents.
If you are thinking that you have no artistic talent, you are wrong,” she said. “I encourage everyone to pick up a brush and give it a try!”
A free sample class will be offered at the Merrill Area Community Enrichment Center on Jan. 22 at 1 p.m. and Jan. 29 at 1 p.m.
Seasonal classes will be held monthly.  For more information please call the center at 715 536-4226.
