Wilma E. Benzinger, age 91, of Parrish, died Sunday, December 29, 2013 at Pine Crest Nursing Home, under the care of Ministry Home Care and Hospice. Wilma was born December 1, 1922, in the Township of Schley, the daughter of the late Louis and Margaret (Laktin) Drobnick. She married Leslie L. Benzinger, in Rhinelander, WI, May 11, 1946, he preceded her in death January 22, 2001. Wilma worked at Weinbrenner Shoe Factory in Merrill for 34 years retiring in 1985. Wilma enjoyed bird watching, fishing, going to casinos, listening to music and spending time with friends. Survivors include: one sister; several nieces and nephews; and Dear Friend Raymond Oldenburg and his family. She was preceded in death by her son: Jerry Benzinger, July 22, 1983, Husband Louis Benzinger, January 22, 2001, and her parents Louis and Margaret Drobnick both in Feb of 1973, and one brother.
Cremation has taken place honoring Wilma’s wishes. Burial will take place at Merrill Memorial Park in the spring. The Waid Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements. Online condolences may be made at www.waidfuneral.com
