PRMS announces ?Holiday Trimmings? concert

The Sixth Grade, Seventh Grade, and Eighth Grade Bands from Prairie River Middle School will present their very first concert of the year on Thursday, Dec. 12, at 7 p.m. in the middle school auditorium. The concert is entitled “Holiday Trimmings.” Some synonyms for “trimmings” (as listed by a thesaurus) are “embellishments, add-ons, added extras, flourishes.” Those are apt descriptions for this band concert, because, in addition to holiday tunes, audience members will be treated to a few patriotic selections, a little dancing, some Beethoven, and even some tom foolery – all good fun, good music, and great “trimmings” for the holiday concert.
Here is a run-down of some of the bands’ selections: Beethoven’s Ninth, Conquest, Creatures in the Attic, Transformers, Appalachian Hoedown, Amazing Grace, and Yankee Fanfare. Holiday tunes will include Jingle Bells, Good King Wenceslas, God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen, Joy to the World, Deck the Halls, Hark the Herald, Dreydl Dreydl, and many more.
