Grab bars available from ADRC

Thanks to a grant from the Aspirus Health Foundation, the Aging and Disability Resource Center of Central Wisconsin (ADRC-CW) will be able to help even more seniors stay safely in their own homes. The $500 grant, designated for the ADRC-CW’s Senior Home Safety Program, will be used to purchase grab bars.
The ADRC-CW’s Senior Home Safety Program provides minor, safety related home repairs or modifications for home owners over the age of 60 who have limited income and are not receiving services from a long term care program like IRIS or Family Care. Grab bars and handrails are the two most requested items for the program, but other types of repairs or modifications include installing handheld shower heads, repairing stair treads, fixing door locks, and more.
The grab bars purchased through the Aspirus Health Foundation grant will be installed for elderly residents in Langlade, Lincoln, Marathon and Wood counties. If you or someone you know could benefit from this program, please call an ADRC-CW Resource Specialist at 1-888-486-9545.
