Student in grades 6, 7, or 8 are invited to take part in the Patriots Pen writing scholarship contest with a first place state competition winning a trip to Washington DC and a chance to compete for top prize on the national VFW level of $10,000 in bonds. To enter, submit a 300-400 word essay based on this year’s theme of “What Patriotism Means to Me?” by Nov. 1 to Russ Iwen – Patriots Pen Chairperson for VFW Post 1638.
