Musician David Dall highlights summer library lineup

Musician David Dall, along with his friends, Mr. Guitar, Ms. Strings, and Baby Guitar, will perform a variety of high-energy and humorous audience participation songs at Prairie River Middle School auditorium on Tuesday, July 16, at10 a.m. His show also includes skits involving the audience, storytelling and character portayals. He has been performing throughout the Midwest for nearly 40 years, entertaining at libraries, schools, festivals and celebrations of all kinds. This free event is sponsored by the Merrill Noon Optimists.
Two more sessions of Read to a Dog will be offered on Mondays, July 15 and 22, from 6-7 p.m. Readers of all abilities are invited to read to Kris Smith’s dog, Kodie, in the library storyhour room. To learn more about Therapy Dogs International, visit their website at tdi-dog.org.
Lunch Bunch for grades 3 to 5 continues on Tuesdays at noon, July 16 through July 30, in the community room with stories, activities and crafts. Children should bring a sack lunch and may attend any or all of the sessions. Pre-registration is appreciated.
More than 400 children and teens have joined T. B. Scott Free Library’s summer reading clubs to “Dig into Reading” this summer. Young readers may still join by keeping track of their summer reading and reporting in to the youth services department to receive local coupons and prizes.
