PRMS announces final band concert of the school year

Prairie River Middle School will be presenting their final band concert on Thursday, May 16, at 7:30 p.m. in the school’s auditorium. The concert, entitled “The Banana Concert – A Bunch of Music with Appeal” will feature the sixth, seventh, and eighth grade bands performing selections like “The Banana Boat Song,” “Penguin Promenade,” “Wade in the Water,” “Driving That Drumming Machine,” “Into The Storm,” and “Lincolnshire Posy.” And before the eighth grade band goes bananas on their final tune, “Party Dance Mix,” the audience and band students will be treated to pie. Due to students reaching a fundraiser goal, you will get to see each band director receive a pie in the face – banana cream pie, of course.
Traditionally, the spring concert has been a scholarship concert, meaning there will be an admission charge to this concert. Admission for this concert will be $2 for adults, $1 for students/senior citizens, and family tickets are available for $5. Family tickets must be purchased in advance. All tickets are available in advance through PRMS band students or the PRMS band office. Proceeds go towards providing students with scholarships for summer music camps and summer music lessons. In lieu of cash, admittance to the concert can also be achieved by bringing a non-perishable food item for the Community Food Pantry of Merrill.
