Investigators have spent the past two days scouring the home and property where Anita Bucki was last seen April 26, but as of Wednesday afternoon they had not been able to locate her.
Lincoln County Chief Deputy Nathan Walrath said extensive investigation was being conducted on the Bucki property at N2034 Wegner Road in the town of Corning.
“We have made efforts to investigate the information here and preserve anything that might lead us to locate her,” Walrath said. “The process of going through the home is to gather information about the individual.”
The State Crime Lab has been on the scene and dive teams were also employed to check nearby water bodies, including the pond behind the Corning fire station. Walrath said the water bodies were checked because those are places they believe she may have gone.
“We wanted to rule out all possibilities in that area,” he said.
An intensive investigation at the Bucki property began Tuesday afternoon and was still ongoing, with numerous officers on scene, Wednesday afternoon.
“As of right now, we’re conducting a ground search to make sure she’s not in the local wooded area,” Walrath said. “I don’t believe she’s there.”
Walrath added that canine searches have failed to turn up any evidence of Anita Bucki. He added that the investigation at the Bucki home would be wrapping up shortly.
Investigators are treating Anita Bucki’s disappearance as a missing person case and do not suspect foul play, Walrath said.
“There are no suspects at this time,” he said.
Walrath said Anita’s family is assisting with the investigation, but no one in the family has heard from her since her disappearance.

On the evening of April 26, sheriff’s office received a call from Anita’s husband, Mark Bucki, reporting that he was unable to find his wife. According to Mark, he and Anita were talking the night before into the early morning hours of April 26. Mark reported that he went to bed and Anita remained up. Mark reported that this was the last time he had seen Anita. Mark advised that he woke up at around 5 a.m. and at that time she was gone.
Anita left all of her personal belongings, as well as her car, purse, and cell phone at the house. Anita is described as 5’0″ and 120 to 150 pounds with brown hair and hazel eyes. She was last seen wearing a red in color jersey button down shirt, blue jeans and a brown pair of shoes.
