Elite Carriers LLC, currently located in Wausau, announced Wednesday that it has purchased the former ITC building located at N1545 County Rd W in Merrill. Elite Carriers plans to re-locate their transportation business to the new location by late summer. Strategically, the move will position the company to expand their customer base and the services provided.
“We are looking forward to the move,” stated Tammy Guite, owner. “Although our current site has served us well, we are excited to have a new building to share with our employees. We are very proud to be a growing and thriving company in a local economy that has been so supportive.”
Greg and Tammy Guite started Elite Carriers in 1999 with 4 trucks and 6 employees. Since that time, the company has had consistent growth to 120 trucks and 140 employees. As a result, they have exceeded the capacity of their current facility. The new acquisition will increase office space from 3,500 sq ft to 18,000 sq ft and shop space from 9,600 sq ft to 46,000 sq ft.
The new facility will feature a driver training center, driver lounge, employee cafe, 16 truck/trailer shop bays, a parts room, 2 wash bays and 2 docks. In addition, the location will allow for greater visibility and access from I-39.
